Claudine Barretto admits to entering rehab

Claudine Barretto finally confirmed a long-held rumor about her entering rehab.

According to her, she entered the facility voluntarily, several years back, not once, not twice, but several times.

She made the big reveal in a recent interview with Ogie Diaz.

The actress was quick to clear though, “It wasn’t because of drugs, it’s because of post-traumatic stress disorder.”

Seemingly eager to dispel talk about her being allegedly locked in a padded room in a hospital basement, Claudine described the rehab facility she entered into as “a beautiful place.”

“Every day may massage ka, may facial ka once a week, may workout ka every day, may villa na may swimming pool,” she recalled.

Claudine stayed in the same rehab center, which is in Thailand, twice.

She went back there again in 2019 but cut her stay short, fearing the worst relating her dad, who eventually passed away.

This is the first time that Claudine admitted to having been in rehab.

Note that prior, at the height of the rumors, she only went far to admit seeing a psychiatrist, telling “Startalk” that she started doing so following ex-boyfriend Rico Yan’s death in 2002.

As to being in rehab, she answered then, "Hindi po ako nagpa-rehab. There's no such thing.”

Claudine hinted in the same interview with Ogie why she downplayed this part of her life for years relating how she was called names including "bipolar," “unstable,” simply admitting she is suffering from depression.

“Meron pa ring stigma about depression and seeing a psychiatrist.”
